PB Fintech, the parent company of Policybazaar and Paisabazaar announced its Q1 FY27 results today. The company reported a 92% year-on-year jump in profit after tax to Rs 163 crore. The Gurugram-based company posted operating revenue of Rs 1,888 crore in Q1 FY27, a 40% increase from Rs 1,348 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, as per the firm’s financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Revenue from the core online business was led by Policybazaar, which contributed Rs 1,067 crore, while Paisabazaar added Rs 127 crore. The company's new initiatives, including PB Partners, PB for Business, PB UAE and PB Connect, collectively generated Rs 694 crore. In addition to operating revenue, the firm earned Rs 93 crore from interest and gains on financial assets during the quarter, taking its total income to Rs 1,981 crore for the quarter ended March 2026. On a quarterly basis, PB Fintech’s revenue dropped over 8% from Rs 2,061 crore in Q4 FY26. The company's total insurance premium rose 41% year-on-year to Rs 8,372 crore during the quarter, led by a 53% increase in new protection premium, including a 59% growth in health insurance premium. Employee benefit expenses remained the group's largest cost, accounting for 40% of total expenditure at Rs 716 crore, a 28% increase from the year-ago quarter. Advertising and promotional expenses also climbed 50% year-on-year to Rs 379 crore in Q1 FY27. The company did not provide a detailed breakup of other expenses in its quarterly financials. Overall expenditure rose 33% year-on-year to Rs 1,800 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 1,356 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Coming to the bottom line, the group's profit after tax surged 92% year-on-year to Rs 163 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 85 crore in the same quarter last year, led by a 41% year-on-year growth in insurance premium. However, on a sequential basis, PB Fintech's profit declined more than 37% fromRs 261 crorein Q4 FY26. At the end of today’s trading session, shares of PB Fintech closed at Rs 1,620, taking its total market capitalization to Rs 74,957 crore (about $7.89 billion).
