Bengaluru-based healthtech startup Healthify has merged with US-based nutrition care company Berry Street in an all-stock deal. The merger will combine Healthify’s AI-led health platform with Berry Street’s insurance-backed clinical care network in the US. The combined company will operate under the Healthify brand in India and other international markets, while continuing with the Berry Street brand in the US. Healthify founder and CEO Tushar Vashisht and Berry Street founder and CEO Noah Kotlove will serve as co-CEOs. Healthify’s AI platform, including its nutrition assistant Ria, will be integrated with Berry Street’s network of more than 2,000 clinicians operating across all 50 US states. Berry Street provides virtual nutrition care through registered dietitians and handles insurance, billing and administrative services. The merger is aimed at building an insurance-covered AI-powered metabolic health platform in the US, with a focus on conditions such as obesity and diabetes. Healthify had been expanding in the US and identified insurance coverage as a key requirement for scaling its nutrition and health services there. Founded in 2012, Healthify has raised around $150 million from investors including Khosla Ventures, Blume Ventures and Chiratae Ventures. The company said the combined business will continue expanding its AI capabilities and explore new international markets. Bareback Media has recently raised funding from a group of investors.
