Eyewear brand Lenskart announced its financial results for Q1 FY27 today, reporting a 43% year-on-year growth in consolidated operating revenue during the quarter, led by strong growth in its international markets, while its profit jumped 3.7 times to Rs 228 crore. The company’s revenue from operations increased to Rs 2,714 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 1,894 crore in the same quarter last year, according to its financial statements sourced from NSE. Revenue from India continued to contribute significantly to the company’s growth. The international business grew 64% year-on-year to Rs 1,203 crore, while revenue from the India business increased 31% to Rs 1,531 crore in Q1 FY27. On a quarterly basis, the firm’s revenue from operations grew 8% fromRs 2,517 crorein Q1 FY26. On the expense side, the cost of materials remained the largest expense head, accounting for over 32% of the total expenditure. The expense rose 34% year-on-year to Rs 807 crore in Q1 FY27. Employee benefit expenses also increased 28% to Rs 599 crore from Rs 466 crore in Q1 FY26. Finance costs and depreciation were other major expense heads, pushing the company’s total expenses up 35% to Rs 2,484 crore during the quarter. The strong 43% growth in revenue, which outpaced the 35% increase in total expenses, helped Lenskart’s profit surge 3.7 times to Rs 228 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 61 crore in the year-ago quarter. Last month, Temasek-backed MacRitchie Investments sold a 2.05% stake in the omnichannel eyewear retailer forRs 1,940 crore, or $204 million,. During the quarter, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), through its investment vehicle Platinum Jasmine A 2018 Trust, also sold its 2.3% stake in the company for Rs 1,960 crore. A week earlier, SoftBank offloaded a 3.25% stake forRs 2,873 crore. At the end of today’s session, Lenskart shares closed at Rs 585, giving it a total market capitalization of Rs 1,01,715 crore or $10.7 billion.
