Ola Electric has launched its new electric scooter, the S1Z, at a starting price of Rs 79,999. The company said it has opened bookings for the scooter and deliveries is expected to begin in December. The shares of electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy rose by over 7% on Friday in response to the news about Hero MotoCorp increasing its stake in the company. Ather Energy's share price was trading at Rs 1603.10 on Friday, at the time of writing this article, against Thursday’s close of Rs 1495.30. Ecommerce platform Meesho recorded a 36% year-on-year growth in orders during the Raksha Bandhan shopping season, with consumers in non-metro markets accounting for nearly three-fourths of the platform’s festive orders. Meesho said its gross merchandise value grew 38% compared with the corresponding Rakhi shopping cycle last year. Non-metro India accounted for around 73% of all Rakhi orders, highlighting the growing contribution of smaller towns to festive ecommerce. Quick-commerce platform Flipkart Minutes says it has recorded a threefold increase in festive shopping during Raksha Bandhan this year, reflecting a growing shift towards digital channels for last-minute gifting. According to the company, Gen Z shoppers accounted for more than 40% of customers during the festive period. Rakhi were the fastest-growing category, registering 20X growth, while maang tikkas recorded 4X growth.
