Physical AI startup Mowito has raised $3 million in a pre seed funding round led by Version One Ventures, with participation from All In Capital, Unisol, iSeed, and angel investors including Soumith Chintala, Adarsh Kulkarni, Ashish Kulkarni, and Vaibhav Domkundwar of Better Capital. The startup had previously secured $540K in an angel funding round. The proceeds will be used to expand into the United States, strengthen its engineering and go to market teams, and scale deployments across automotive and electronics manufacturers, Mowito said in a press release. Co-founded in 2024 by Puru Rastogi, Adityanag Nagesh, and Safar V, Mowito develops Physical AI foundation models for industrial robot arms. Its software enables robots to learn manufacturing tasks directly from demonstrations instead of conventional programming, allowing manufacturers to deploy automation faster while using existing robotic hardware. Industrial robots typically rely on rigid programming that can take days to configure and often needs to be rewritten whenever a product, process, or component changes. Mowito is developing Physical AI models that enable robots to learn directly from task demonstrations, reducing the need for traditional programming while maintaining the precision required for manufacturing applications. According to the Bengaluru based startup, its technology is already being deployed in production environments. Its software powers robots operating on manufacturing lines at a Fortune 500 automotive company, supporting high precision assembly applications across the automotive and consumer electronics sectors. Mowito competes with companies such as Cognex, Keyence, Omron, and Fanuc in the industrial automation and machine vision space. Bareback Media has recently raised funding from a group of investors.
