Enterprise software startup Whatfix has appointed cofounder Vara Kumar as its chief executive officer (CEO), effective immediately. Kumar succeeds cofounder Khadim Batti, following his demise on September 1. Kumar co-founded Whatfix with Batti in 2014 and has led the company’s product and research strategy. In his new role, he will oversee the company’s operations and growth alongside the existing executive leadership team and board. Whatfix said its operations across regions will continue under the new leadership. The Bengaluru and San Jose-based company operates a digital adoption platform that combines AI, analytics, simulation training and intelligent agents to help enterprises use software more effectively. Whatfix claims to serve more than 600 enterprises globally, including over 80 Fortune 500 companies such as Shell, Schneider Electric, Mercedes-Benz, Heineken and UPS Supply Chain Solutions. The company is backed by investors including Warburg Pincus, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Dragoneer, Peak XV Partners, Eight Roads and Cisco Investments.
