Suminter India Organics, a leading organic and sustainable food ingredients company, has raised ₹25 crore in debt funding from BlackSoil Capital to strengthen its working capital and support procurement during the peak harvest season. The funding will enable Suminter to source high-quality organic food ingredients at scale while further deepening engagement with its network of over 100,000 smallholder farmers across India, the Philippines, and Africa. Founded in 2004, Suminter operates a fully integrated farm-to-market platform that manages sourcing, certification, processing, and global distribution of certified organic and sustainably sourced ingredients. The company supplies products including spices, coconut products, oilseeds, cocoa, sweeteners, and natural fibres to leading food and ingredient brands in the U.S., Europe, and other international markets. The company’s platform is designed to deliver end-to-end traceability while promoting regenerative agricultural practices and improving farmer livelihoods. He added, “As global demand for sustainable and traceable raw materials continues to grow, we remain focused on building a resilient, transparent, and climate-conscious supply chain that creates long-term value for both farmers and global brands.” Suminter’s business model, centred on smallholder inclusion, certified organic farming, and transparent supply chains, reflects this approach. The funding comes amid rising global demand for clean-label, organic, and sustainably sourced food ingredients as multinational food companies increasingly seek greater transparency and resilience in their supply chains.
