Quick commerce platform Instamart has appointed Gautam Swaroop as its Chief Business Officer (CBO), as the company continues to strengthen its leadership team. In his new role, Swaroop will oversee the company's commercial operations, including customer growth, category management, and brand partnerships, Instamart said in a press release. Swaroop brings more than two decades of experience across consulting, pharmaceuticals, and technology. He began his career at McKinsey & Company before joining Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, where he helped scale the company's emerging markets business. Most recently, he served as CEO of OYO's international business, overseeing operations across the US, UK, Europe, China, and Latin America. Swaroop replaces Hari Kumar, who recently resigned as Chief Business Officer of Swiggy's quick commerce arm. Commenting on the appointment, Girish Menon, Chief Human Resources Officer at Swiggy, said Swaroop's experience in scaling businesses will help Instamart deepen brand partnerships and support its next phase of growth. The appointment is part of a broader leadership expansion at Instamart. The company has also appointed Srikar Adavi as Vice President of Ad Monetization and Hardeep Kaur as Associate Vice President for the FMCG category. Launched in August 2020, Instamart operates in more than 131 cities across India, delivering groceries and other daily essentials through its quick commerce platform.
