Most satellites do not die because they break. They die because the propellant runs out. The electronics still work, the solar panels still generate, the payload still functions, and the operator pushes the whole thing into a graveyard orbit because there is no way to put fuel back in. InspeCityis building the machines that would. On27 August 2026the Thane company raised₹100 crore, about$10.5 million, in a pre-Series A round led bySpeciale InvestandAshish Kacholia, with Antler Elevate, Antler India, Manish Gandhi and Shastra VC joining. That takes InspeCity's total equity funding to roughly$17.7 million, close to ₹156 crore, across three rounds since April 2023. Separately, the government'siDEXprogramme put$3 millioninto the company in May 2025. Between April 2023 and March 2025 the post-money went from roughly $4.8 million to $28.5 million, a step-up of about5.9 times. For deep tech hardware, where the gap between a working prototype and a qualified flight article usually swallows years, that is a fast repricing. Three investors have been in every equity round since the beginning:Speciale Invest,AntlerandShastra. Kacholia came in at the March 2025 round and has now co-led this one. He has been backing Indiandeep techhardware beyond space as well, including a $10 million Series A into fabless semiconductor company Vervesemi. The sequencing matters, because each capability is a prerequisite for the next. You cannot refuel a satellite you cannot dock with, you cannot dock with one you cannot approach precisely, and you cannot approach one you cannot reach. Everything else in this announcement, the propulsion sales, the engineering hires, the roadmap beyond VEDA, is downstream of whether those four missions do what they are supposed to.
