Singapore-based agritech startup Rize has raised $31 million in a Series B funding round comprising both equity and debt financing. The round included participation from BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts, Temasek, The Rockefeller Foundation and Breakthrough Energy Ventures, while debt financing came from United Overseas Bank, Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, and Temasek Foundation. The company plans to use the capital to expand its operations, strengthen its technology platform and support the adoption of sustainable rice farming practices across its target markets. Founded by Bengaluru-based Dhruv Sawhney, Rize focuses on sustainable rice cultivation and works with farmers to improve yields while reducing emissions through technology-driven farming practices. The company currently operates in Southeast Asia and plans to use the fresh capital to deepen its presence in Vietnam and Indonesia. It is also looking to enter another geography, with India among the shortlisted markets. The latest funding follows Rize's $14 million Series A round in 2024, which was co-led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, GenZero, Temasek and Wavemaker Impact.
