Data and AI company EXL has signed a definitive agreement to acquire AI model training and reinforcement learning specialist iMerit in a transaction valued at up to $310 million. The deal includes an upfront payment of $170 million, with an additional $140 million linked to performance milestones over two years. Expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, the acquisition strengthens EXL's AI capabilities by adding iMerit's Ango platform and global network of domain experts.
