CarTrade reports Rs 201 Cr revenue and Rs 57 Cr profit in Q1 FY27

Automobile classifieds platform CarTrade announced its financial results for the first quarter of FY27 on Wednesday, reporting over 16% year-on-year growth in its revenue from operations. The company's profit also increased 21% to Rs 57 crore during the quarter. CarTrade’s revenue from operations rose to Rs 201 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 173 crore in Q1 FY26, according to its unaudited financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The Mumbai-based company operates across three key segments: Consumer, Remarketing, and Classifieds. The Consumer segment remained the largest contributor, with Rs 78 crore in revenue during Q1 FY27, followed by Remarketing at Rs 67 crore and Classifieds at Rs 62 crore, before Rs 6.4 crore in intersegment eliminations. Besides its core operations, CarTrade recorded Rs 29 crore in non-operating income during the quarter, taking its total income to Rs 230 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to Rs 199 crore in Q1 FY26. On a quarterly basis, its operating revenue declined marginally from Rs 203 crore in the previous quarter (Q4 FY26). On the cost side, employee benefits remained the largest expense, accounting for nearly 55% of the company’s total expenditure. This cost increased to Rs 83 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 75 crore in Q1 FY26. Other expenses stood at Rs 55 crore, while depreciation and finance costs were Rs 11 crore and Rs 3.2 crore, respectively. CarTrade’s overall expenditure increased 7% to Rs 152 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 142 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. Growth across its operating segments, coupled with a relatively controlled increase in expenditure, helped CarTrade's profit rise 21.3% to Rs 57 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 47 crore in Q1 FY26. On a sequential basis, however, its profit declined nearly 20% from Rs 71 crore in Q4 FY26. According to a separate exchange filing, CarTrade Tech has partnered with Spinny to strengthen the used-car buying and selling experience across CarWale and OLX India. Through the collaboration, users will be able to access Spinny's quality-assured used-car offerings, while CarTrade will leverage its proprietary VAYA AI technology to connect consumers with relevant listings in real time.
