Quick commerce platform Zepto has clarified that it has fully cooperated with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and shared all information available to the company regarding an investigation linked to betting platform Parimatch. The clarification comes after media reports claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had sought details from Zepto as part of its ongoing investigation into Parimatch and its promotional activities in India. Responding to queries fromEntrackr, Zepto said the matter relates to an advertisement placed in March 2025 through a third-party media and vendor arrangement for a merchandise entity. "Zepto did not directly onboard, contract with, or manage the advertiser in question, and had no involvement in any betting, gaming, payments, user acquisition, or operational activity linked to the entity under investigation," a company spokesperson said. According to Zepto, the advertisement campaign was managed externally, and the company connected investigating officials with the concerned vendor to assist with any further inquiry. The company added that it has fully cooperated with the ED and provided all information available to it. Zepto also rejected suggestions that it played any operational role in the activities being investigated. According to media reports, the ED was examining alleged promotional activities linked to Parimatch, including advertisements and marketing material that may have reached consumers through the platform. The agency was also reportedly seeking details regarding advertiser verification processes and the nature of Zepto's engagement, if any, with the advertiser. The development comes amid heightened regulatory scrutiny of offshore betting and gaming platforms, with enforcement agencies increasingly examining the channels through which such entities may have reached Indian consumers.
