US-based venture capital firm Ribbit Capital has sold shares worth around Rs 2,217 crore in Groww’s parent company Billionbrains Garage Ventures through bulk deals on Wednesday, August 26. Ribbit Capital V LP sold 6.32 crore shares at an average price of Rs 196 apiece, while Ribbit Cayman GW Holdings V Ltd sold another 4.99 crore shares at around Rs 196.06 per share. Together, the two entities sold around 11.31 crore shares. The total block and bulk transactions in Groww were larger, with around 12.74 crore shares worth nearly Rs 2,500 crore changing hands. The remaining transaction was not immediately linked to a named seller. Groww shares fell more than 3% after the deal. This is also Ribbit’s second major sell-down in Groww this year. In May, Ribbit Capital V LP and Ribbit Cayman GW Holdings V Ltd sold shares worth more thanRs 2,500 crore, alongside Y Combinator and Peak XV Partners. Y Combinator has also been steadily reducing its stake. In August, YC Holdings II sold around 7.47 crore shares for roughlyRs 1,435 crore. It had earlier sold shares worth around Rs 1,642 crore in May. Despite these investor exits, Groww continues to report strong financial growth. Billionbrains Garage Ventures posted Rs 1,501 crore revenue in Q1 FY27, up 66% year-on-year, while its profit after tax rose 94% toRs 735 crore. At the end of today’s trading session, Groww’s share price stood at Rs 196.24, with a total market capitalisation of Rs 1,23,238 crore ($12.8 billion).
