Walmart-owned Flipkart has appointed Vinay Vaidya as Senior Vice President, Technology for Supply Chain. In his new role, Vaidya will lead technology and platform development across fulfillment services, seller experience, trust and safety, and marketplace operations. He will also oversee initiatives related to logistics and AI-powered capabilities. Vaidya joins Flipkart from Tata Digital, where he served as Chief Technology Officer and led technology strategy and platform modernisation efforts. Prior to that, he spent nearly 18 years at Amazon, working across marketplace, seller ecosystem, payments, search, browse, and Amazon India operations. The appointment comes as Flipkart continues to invest in its technology and AI capabilities. Earlier this year, the company hired Goda Ramkumar as Vice President of Data Science and AI Solutions, Mohan Palisetti as Vice President of Fintech and Payments Engineering, Nitesh Jain as Distinguished Architect, Smita Ojha as Vice President of Core Platform Engineering, and Amit Sharma as Vice President of Program Management. Flipkart has been strengthening its leadership team ahead of its planned public listing and increasing focus on AI-led commerce, supply chain efficiency, and marketplace expansion. The company also shifted its domicile from Singapore to India and continues to invest across ecommerce, quick commerce, fintech, travel, and fashion through businesses including Myntra, Cleartrip, and super.money.
